Prof. Dr. Kretschmer

Prof. Dr. med. Alexander Kretschmer is a specialist in urology with further training in drug tumor therapy. His focus is on treating patients with tumors of the prostate, bladder and kidneys.
Prof. Kretschmer completed his medical studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich. This was followed by further training as a specialist in urology at the University Hospital of Munich-Großhadern. From 2015 - 2017 he worked as a scientist and scholarship holder from the German Research Society at the University of British Columbia at the renowned Vancouver Prostate Center. He has received numerous awards for his scientific work in the field of prostate cancer, including the Prostate Cancer Research Prize and the Rudolf Hohenfellner Prize of the German Society for Urology. His habilitation on the topic of health-related quality of life in urological oncology took place in 2018, and in 2022 he was awarded the title of adjunct professor by the LMU Munich.
Before working in the urology study practice, Prof. Kretschmer led the prostate cancer consultation at the urological university clinic at the LMU Munich as a senior physician and coordinator of the prostate center.
Prof. Kretschmer is the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific publications. He also works as an expert reviewer for numerous scientific journals. He was also a member of the Young Academic Working Group on Prostate Cancer of the European Urological Association
